Patients and families are always a critical source of data in healthcare innovation. This is even more pronounced in matters of patient safety, for which those who have first-hand experience with medical harm have an indispensible and vital role to play.
ExPPect is partnering with Patients for Patient Safety US to revolutionize the way the healthcare system collects and uses information about medical harm, and bias and discrimination in care. Learn more at the project webpage.
We are eager to be involved in a project with the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, to explore with patients and families the best ways to communicate about the risks associated with radiation from medical diagnostics and interventions.
ExPPect has joined the Leapfrog Institute and the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine (SIDM) to develop the PFAC Toolkit for Exploring Diagnostic Quality. The toolkit is part of the Recognizing Excellence in Diagnosis Project, a collaboration between Leapfrog and SIDM.
ExPPect's founder had the privilege to partner in the creation of the World Health Organization Patient Safety Storytelling Toolkit with Patients for Patient Safety US and other patient safety leaders. This toolkit is designed for patients and family members involved in patient safety efforts.
